Christmas party is one of the annual and continuous events in the Leo Calendar. Leo Club of Kandana Ja-Ela hosted the Christmas Party. There were around more than sixty Leos took part from more ten Leo Clubs. This event started with Carol songs sung by Leos. Then party was filled with lots of fun games and refreshments, drinks. Our Leos actively participated in the games. This was a good event to grow mutual understanding and friendship and fellowship.
Leo Walk 2008

To commemorate the Leo International Day (December 5th) all six districts in Multiple District 306 joined together and organized “Leo Walk 2008” on December 6th. “Cry for Unity” was theme for the walk. This theme was taken regarding to prevailing situations of Country.
Leo Club of Kandana Ja-Ela and Leo Club of Colombo Circle joined together organized on behalf of Leo District Council 306B2. Both clubs provided cool drinks, brought bands, banners on behalf of the district. Additionally, our district also provided St.Johns Ambulance Service with the help of Leo club of Hindu College.
There were more than 400 Leos took part in this walk and marched having Leo flags and banners based on the themes. Finally after a long march of 4km distance, all joined together for the Camp Fire where our Leos showed their performances and had fun there.

Project & Activity Report – Deadlines
Reminder to all the clubs in District 306B2.
As announced by the District President, deadlines for the Quarterly Projects & Activity Reports are following.
- 1st Quarter (July – September) – 30th of October
- 2nd Quarter (October- December) – 15th of January
- 3rd Quarter (January – March) – 15th of April
- 4th Quarter (April – May) – 20th of May
Project reports will count most for the district contest. So please make arrangements to submit your club reports on or before the deadline to District President directly. Please feel free to contact any of the District Council officers for any help or clarifications.
Be a part of International Leo Day

Dear Leos,
One of the most important memorable day for us, which is International Leo Day is coming. It is on December 5th. We all encourage the clubs in the district to come up with the commemorating projects.
This time our district is celebrating International Leo day with Multiple District 306. All the Leos in Sri Lanka are joining together for “Leo Walk 2008″ which is organized by all six districts in Multiple on 6th Saturday of December. This Walk is based on the theme “Cry for Unity”.
All the Leos are invited for this event to commemorate International Leo Day. Camp Fire & Lot more surprises awaits you in this walk. So don’t miss the chance…
District Board Meeting

As announced by the District President, there will be a district board meeting on November 2nd Sunday at
9.30am at Lions Activity Centre, Colombo 7. All the Club presidents and District Council officers are requested to attend to the board meeting as there will be many announcements and important decisions will be made such as monthly report submission.

Club Officers’ Workshop

Leo District Council organized the club officer’s workshop for the fiscal year 2008 / 2009 on 5th of October 2008. This time district president and district council organized workshop in enhanced manner with new additions. Workshop was organized in five different categories including President’s Workshop, Secretary’s Workshop, Treasurer’s Workshop, Special discussion forum for Leo Advisors and Common Discussion.
Workshop started formally according to the customs at 10am in the morning. Then the resource persons were introduced by the District President Leo S. Thirupparan. Workshop for Presidents was conducted by the Vice District President Leo V. T. Dinesh where duties and roles of Presidents and Sample projects were discussed. Workshop for Secretaries was conducted by the District Secretary Leo A. Thusyanthan, Past District Secretary Leo Rajith and Council Coordinator Leo Rakitha. Constitutions, duties of Secretaries, Project Report Writing, Agenda and Minutes writing were discussed with a practical demonstration. In parallel, Treasurer’s workshop was conducted by council coordinator Leo S. Nimal in which writing treasurer’s report and duties of the treasurers were discussed. Further, Advisors had a special discussion forum with District Chairperson for Leos Lion V. Alahendran and Advisor for District President Lion S. Pragalathan. Finally all Leos and Lions gathered for a Common Discussion. Workshop concluded successfully at 1.15 p.m.
District Council is so happy with the feedbacks from Leos and Lions as the workshop was very useful for all the Leos who participated and happened in a very successful manner. Special Thanks for all the Lions, Senior Leos and District Council Officers, who helped in organizing Club Officers’ Workshop in an enhanced way. Thank you for all the Leos who participated in the workshop.
Club Officers’ Workshop – Soon
Important note to all the Club Officers of District 306B2
District Council is planning to organize the “Club Officers’ Workshop” at the end of September 2008 for the newly elected Club Officers for this fiscal year. Workshop will consist many useful discussions, special guidances on writing project reports, accounts of club and many more…. So please keep in touch with District Council Officers and the web.
Leo District Cricket Tournament

In the August 2008, Leo club of Kandana JaEla organized a Leo Cricket tournament with in clubs of Leo District 306B2. Almost all the Leo clubs participated in the Cricket tournament and Leo Club of Colombo Circle and Leo Club of Nittambuwa came to finals.
Final match happened in the Lions district sports meet where lots of Leos took part in various other games. After a tough game Leo Club of Colombo Circle won the trophy.
