MERL (Membership Extension Retention and Leadership)
Membership is the lifeblood of our organization. Through a well planned quality membership development program, we shall strive to add vitality to our movement. We will continue to expand our pool of quality motivators to develop a new brand of leaders to guide and develop our movement.
Strengthening Relationship
Healthy relationships will help us to successfully march forward in our service endeavors. Hence Leos will be encouraged to actively foster and maintain strong relationships between the following peer groups:
Parent Lions Club, Other Leo clubs in the District and the Multiple, Leo District Council, Leo Multiple Council, The Local Government Authorities, Social Services Organizations, NGO’s, Community based Associations and peer groups.
Leos will be encouraged to twin with overseas clubs to broaden their relationships and to engage in mutually benefiting endeavors and youth exchange programs.
Community Service & Public Relations
It’s important to assess community needs, identify meaningful service areas, establish clear goals, workout a budget, organize a work plan, pool the resources and efficiently implement the project to gain a maximum impact.
Let us put our community activities into the limelight. Visibility leads to credibility and credibility leads to increased membership, greater turnout from the public at fund raisers, higher morale among Leos and a better image for Leoism.
Nurture the Nature
We shall commit ourselves to the conservation of nature,, by promoting environmental awareness, engaging in conservation activities such preserving the plants, animals and natural communities including the endangered flora and fauna that represents the diversity of life on earth. We shall actively lobby for effective environmental legislations, together with the NGOs working in these areas.
Grooming Leaders for our Future
We will continue to develop the next generation of leaders who could inspire and lead us to a better tomorrow. Our focus will be on the school students and shall actively help Lions to effectively carryout the Lions Quest program in selected schools, and shall strive to provide necessary educational assistance and career guidance to the school children.
