District President 2009/2010 - Leo Thiyagaraja Dinesh
Leo Thiyagaraja Dinesh joined the Leo movement in year 1999 as a member of his school Leo Club. He is a proud product of Royal College Colombo. After gradually climbing up the ladder of leadership he was selected as the Secretary of the Leo Club of Royal College. He was also a Senior Steward and Senior Prefect of Royal College. He was invited to the Leo Club of Colombo Circle in 2005.
His generous contribution to Leoism leads him to be the President of Leo Club of Colombo Circle in 2006/07. His vision for the year, “SMILE” served the community through the projects directed to address social urgencies. During his Presidency his excellent leadership earned him a reputation as one of the strongest Leo Clubs internationally by being awarded the Leo Club Excellence Award. The Leo Club of Colombo Circle for the first time
in its 15 years history was awarded the most outstanding club of the district. As a President, Leo Dinesh drove his Leo club with energetic members to greater heights sweeping away a record number of 23 awards in the Leo district conference.
His personal achievements include being awarded the Leo of the Year by Lion Mahendra Amarasuriya, International President 2007/2008, at the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Leoism for his effort and excellence. He was awarded as the Leo of the Year in the 3rd Annual Leo Conference. In addition two years consecutively was awarded Executive Leo in the District 306 B2.

Dinesh is the one and only son of Mr. Thiyagaraja and Mrs. Uvaneswary. The support he gains for his service activities from his family is immense. He is currently employed as a Customer Service Representative at HSBC Bank, following his Management Studies degree in final year at Open University Nawala, and has completed Certificate in Banking and Finance.
In the year 2007/08 Leo Dinesh has been chosen as District Council Secretary and elected as District Vice President for the period of 2008/09. His efforts were outstanding to organize many successful events in the district. His extensive support offered to the district President was one of the greatest strengths of District council throughout the year.
He was an exceptional leader who led by example. He was an inspiration and role model to everybody who wanted to live the true meaning of Leoism.
