QMERL (Quality Membership Extension Retention & Leadership)
Quality membership is vital for the growth and prosperity of Leoism. We shall have an effective programme to retain our existing members, while we take active interest to recruit new members. A series of well planned Leadership development programmes will be launched to add value and liveliness to the members and the organization.
MERL programme will be carried out with energy and enthusiasm to extend, retain and develop our valued members without compromising quality for quantity.
Innovation will be encouraged and healthy changes will be facilitated to succeed as the best district.
Strengthening Relationships
Healthy relationships are vital to progress and prosper. Relationship with the fellow Leos, relationship with the clubs in the district, in the multiple and even out of Sri Lanka, relationship with the parent Lions Club, relationship with community leaders, relationship with corporate and government authorities, media and other stakeholders.
All these will help in some or the other way to move forward in our endeavour to serve the community better. Hence Leos will be encouraged to maintain healthy relationship with all their peer groups.
Leo Clubs will be encouraged to twin with overseas clubs to broaden their relationships and to engage in youth exchange programmes.
‘Future First’ Programme
‘Future First’ programme will focus our younger generation – our children including our Leos who will be our future. We shall take an active interest to groom quality Leaders through a variety of skill development and career guidance programmes targeted at school children.
We will help Lions to effectively carry out the Lions Quest Programme to provide life skill education to hundreds of school children.
Environment Education
We shall commit ourselves to protect the nature by promoting environmental awareness that make positive difference in the minds of the people; thereby we shall gain their support to protect our environment. Our main focus areas will be waste reduction and waste recycling, tree planting, conserve water and energy and reducing air pollution.
Image Building
We will work towards establishing a unique identity for Leos and shall endeavour to constantly build our image.
This will be done through meaningful and impactful well organized community service projects with the involvement of the community. Each such project will help boost the image of the movement among the communities we serve. We shall leverage image of Leoism through a well planned publicity and public relations programme.
